The design draws inspiration from the iconic photo featured on the sockliners: Kobe practicing in a baggy yellow practice jersey and matching shorts layered over soft flannel pyjamas and a cast on his broken right hand. Made with premium Soft Yellow leather, Dusty Amethyst accents and knit laces that match his famed pj’s—the shoe embodies that moment.
The AF-1’s star-patterned outsole is replaced with repeating Sheath logos, and Kobe’s five championship years are finely etched into the five rings of the sneaker’s concentric outsole tooling. Finally, like every Kobe Protro model, this AF-1 comes with improved, intentional tech like ultra-plush ReactX foam paired with Nike Air cushioning for supreme comfort.
