There seem to be Air Jordan 1 colorways released every year, but none have the cachet of classic Chicago-inspired versions like the black and Varsity Red version, commonly known as “banned” Air Jordans. Jordan Brand reintroduced “OG” versions of the Jordan 1, which featured “Nike Air” labeling on the tongue and insoles in 2013. Jordan collectors often value these little details more because when the Nike Air Jordan was released originally in 1985, the Jumpman logo hadn’t even been created, which means the retro AJ1 with Jumpman on the tongue, heel, or just isn’t the same.
